Michael Thomas Cooper
Michael Thomas Cooper joined the McLeod Law Group, LLC after serving three
years with the Charleston County Public Defender's Office. As an Assistant
Public Defender, Michael represented more than 750 individuals charged
with serious crimes and misdemeanors. He fought to protect the rights
of his clients and to ensure their chance for a fair trial. During his
time with the Public Defender's Office, Michael successfully negotiated
favorable plea deals and won jury trials for indigent clients with a variety
of charges, including homicides, robberies, serious drug offenses, property-related
offenses, and financial crimes.
Jackie LaPan Edgerton
Jackie represents clients in state and federal courts at both the trial
and appellate levels. Her practice focuses on representing individuals
who have suffered civil rights and constitutional violations, catastrophic
bodily injuries, and families who have lost a loved one in wrongful death
claims. She joined McLeod Law Group, LLC in 2013 and draws on her wide-range
of litigation experience to vigorously advocate for her clients. Her background
includes labor and employment law for the U.S. Department of the Army;
criminal law as a prosecutor in Georgia and the District of Columbia;
and civil litigation and securities defense in private practice as an
associate at Crowell & Moring LLP in Washington, D.C.
Walton J. McLeod, IV
Attorney Walton J. "Tad" McLeod, IV is a South Carolina native
dedicated to providing effective advocacy for any person in need. Born
in Columbia, Tad grew up in Little Mountain, South Carolina. Tad graduated
from Tulane University in 2001 with a B.A. in History. While at Tulane
he was a member of the Tulane Naval ROTC. Prior to becoming an attorney,
Tad served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy and
was based out of Norfolk, Virginia. During his naval service Tad served
as Strike Warfare Officer of USS Thorn (DD-988) and Navigator of USS Mitscher
(DDG-57), participating in deployments to the Mediterranean Sea and Indian
Ocean supporting operations for the global war on terrorism. He is passionate
about his state, country and serving fellow Americans through his legal practice.
H. Cooper Wilson, III
Cooper Wilson joins McLeod Law Group, LLC after practicing law in Charleston
at a respected civil defense firm where he was a partner. He has extensive
civil litigation and trial experience and handles medical malpractice,
products liability, automobile, sexual assault, and general negligence cases.
Brooke A. Dimeo
Brooke was born in Hunterdon County, New Jersey and graduated from Blair
Academy in 1997. She moved to Charleston in 1997 to attend college and
graduated from the College of Charleston in 2001 with a B.A. in Corporate
Communications. While attending the College of Charleston she was a volunteer
with the Family Christian Y for the Adaptive Aquatics Program.
Brooke has been the Senior Litigation paralegal in the Plaintiff's
practice for Mullins McLeod for just over 10 years. She is responsible
for assisting and supporting attorneys in trial preparation for multimillion
dollar litigation cases, attending trials and managing trial organization
for major cases. She is experienced in various areas of law, such as civil
litigation, corporate law and estate planning.
Sarah Lundquist Norton
Sarah was born in Annapolis, Maryland and grew up in Charleston, where
she graduated from Ashley Hall. She went on to attend Columbia University
in New York, earning a degree in Middle East Studies and serving as secretary
of her class council.
Sarah has over twelve years of experience working in Charleston-area law
firms on a diverse array of cases in state, federal, and appellate courts
throughout the country, including the United States Supreme Court. Her
work has included assisting in civil litigation, family law, and criminal
defense. For six years Sarah worked for a globally renowned law firm on
international counter-terrorism cases brought on behalf of thousands of
victims of terrorist attacks and directed against the alleged financiers
of such incidents.
Samantha J. Rhoades
Samantha is a South Carolina native. She was born in Columbia and raised
in Southeast Columbia on Lake Murray in Lexington County. Samantha graduated
Sloan School in Saint Andrews and attended Midlands Technical College
in West Columbia. She later graduated from the University of South Carolina
with a BS in Criminal Justice in 1998.
Samantha became interested in the legal field while working in a law office
during school. Her areas of experience include personal injury, family,
criminal, workers’ compensation, collection and foreclosure law.
Samantha resides on Lake Murray in Lexington County and is a member of
The Harvest Church in Lexington. She enjoys distance swimming, kayaking,
and boating and loves spending time with her family. Samantha is passionate
about dogs and animal welfare and enjoys her two dachshunds and shih-tzu.
Antoinette was born and raised in Goose Creek, SC where she attended Goose
Creek High. She went on to attend the College of Charleston earning her
BA degree in Communications. While attending the College of Charleston
she was an active member and dancer of the Meira Belly Dance Troupe.
Antoinette has over five years of legal experience interning and working
in the Charleston area. Her interest into the legal field began in high
school while interning at the Magistrates Court. Her areas of experience
include criminal defense, probate, personal injury and family law. At
McLeod Law Group, LLC, Antoinette is responsible for all initial client
intake, assisting in trial preparations and office administration.
