Jacqueline LaPan Edgerton

Jackie Edgerton joined McLeod Law Group, LLC in 2013 with over seven years
of litigation experience practicing in the private and public sectors.
She most recently served for four years as the Labor Counselor for the
Department of the Army at Fort Gordon, Georgia where she counseled management
on all matters of labor and employment law, represented the Army in dozens
of administrative complaints and appeals before the Equal Employment Opportunity
Commission, Merit Systems Protection Board, and Federal Labor Relations
Authority, and represented the Army in negotiations with the local union.
Jackie also has experience as a prosecutor with the Office of the Solicitor
General for the State Court of Richmond County, Georgia and the District
of Columbia's Office of the Attorney General, as well as in private
practice as an associate at Crowell & Moring LLP in Washington, D.C.,
practicing in civil litigation and securities defense.
Jackie received her B.A. from Vanderbilt University in 1998, graduating
magna cum laude, and earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2002, where
she competed in the Cardozo/BMI Entertainment & Communications Law
Moot Court Competition, winning
Best Oral Advocate Team and
Best Brief. She also participated in Georgetown's
Criminal Justice Clinic during her third year, working as a student attorney representing individuals
charged with misdemeanor crimes in D.C. Superior Court. Following graduation,
Jackie clerked for the Honorable Barbara A. Madsen, Justice on Washington
State's Supreme Court, where she worked on an array of complex civil
and criminal issues appealed to Washington State's highest appellate
court for a decision.
